Yamaha NX-U10 USB Speaker Video [0.23] by clint,January 07, 2007 20:00
The Yamaha NX-U10 USB speaker is a multi-faced speaker that can be powered in almost any way imaginable... except for fuel cell or solar. OK, so it takes USB power, batteries and even AC - but it's still a cool option for getting sound that bests the often underwhelming sound quality of most laptops. With its lightweight styling and surprisingly loud output levels, the NX-U10 will make for a portable speaker solution that won't take up much room and fits nicely into your laptop case.
TomTom GO 720 Portable Car Navigation System Review [0.23] by jclarke,October 19, 2007 23:37
If you haven't checked out the latest portable GPS offerings, you are missing out. In the last couple of years, the technology has really reached a saturation point that has brought in-car navigation to the masses, and the prices continue to fall while features and quality rise. TomTom is one of the leaders in portable GPS units, and I was thrilled at the chance to review one of their latest offerings, the GO 720.

You may be puzzled when you look at this Loudspeaker Face Off Review and notice that there are brands and models of Loudspeakers ranging drastically in price and size. There are reasons to our madness as to why we choose such a diverse range of Loudspeakers to review: 1) These were the speakers available to us for the review. 2) Most importantly, price and size don't always dictate quality. So on with the Face Off we say, and bring on the music!
Griffin Technology Evolve Wireless Sound System for iPod Review [0.23] by jclarke,April 06, 2008 14:59
The Evolve wireless sound system from Griffin Technology brings yet another iPod speaker system to a crowded market category. But the Evolve stands alone as the first truly wireless speaker system I have reviewed, and it proved to be a great little product that any iPod owner will be interested in checking out.
Jays d-JAYS Earphones Review [0.23] by J. Henry Gaddabout,December 03, 2007 15:06
The Jays line of earphones consists of the j-JAYS, an entry level model at $49.99 MSRP, the d-JAYS in the middle of the line, and the q-JAYS at $179 MSRP. The Jays line-up also offers the BlueStreamer stereo Bluetooth adapter and the m-Jays, which is designed to allow for use of aftermarket headphones with mp3-capable cell phone devices. Packaging is nice but not ostentatious. Fit-and-finish seems top rate.
Klipsch Image Earphones Review [0.23] by jclarke,February 26, 2008 00:45
The Klipsch Image earphones are proported to be the "world's smallest high performance earphones," and there is no doubt that they are unlike anything I have seen. I remember seeing them at CEDIA last year and thinking that they would probably be yet another overpriced, mediocre sounding earbud for the iPod. Recently Klipsch sent me a pair and I have been using the Image earphones for a couple of months now, and I am pleased to tell you that I had it all wrong.

Video: Installing Surround Sound Speakers [0.23] by clint,September 27, 2007 10:43
We know you're out there. Yes, you. The guy who bought that 5.1 surround sound system in Christmas of 2006 but still hasn't hooked up the rear speakers. It's too hard, you say! There, there, we feel your pain. But it's not really all that bad. In fact, we decided to put our money - uh, make that our bodies - where our mouths are. Audioholics takes itself up into the attic... in the middle of summer... in Florida... to help YOU learn how to install your surround sound speakers. Yeah, we love ya.
The Power of the Placebo Effect in Audio & Beyond [0.23] by Gene,November 23, 2010 11:00
I never thought I could fall victim to the placebo effect being the skeptic that I am in nature. Last weekend's trip to the mall proved me wrong when I was stopped by an attractive booth babe trying to sell me a magical power bracelet to restore my balance and increase strength. This experience caused me to re-evaluate the influence of the power of suggestion and just how important it is to do controlled double blind testing in such instances. I wonder how long it will be before some exotic cable vendor starts slapping these power bands onto their speaker cables, or a company manufacturing sexual enhancement products adopts them for the bedroom touting it as safe and natural alternative to Viagra. Trust me it's coming.
Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speaker System Review [0.23] by jclarke,November 27, 2007 13:25
The Take Classic system picks up where the Take 5 system left off, and adds aggressive (value) pricing that makes this system worthy of a closer look. I have had the Take Classic system set up in my Reference Theater for the past several weeks, and can tell you that if you are considering (gasp!) a Home Theater in a Box, stop right where you are and take time to read this review.
