Audio Advice Showroom Tour - Bringing the Demo Experience Back

If you’ve been an Audioholics reader for a while, you’re no doubt familiar with Audio Advice, one of the premier AV stores in the country. We’ve worked with the folks at Audio Advice on informative videos and fun product giveaways, and we were blown away by what they achieved at the Audio Advice Live shows the last two years. Now in its third year, Audio Advice Live is the largest consumer-focused home theater and high-end audio show in the country. (This year’s show will take place from August 2nd through the 4th at the Sheraton in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.)

Two years ago, our fearless leader Gene DellaSala was very impressed by Audio Advice’s Raleigh showroom, which allows customers to experience everything from Smart Home systems, controlled lighting, and shades, to every level of audio products and home theaters. His response came as no surprise to me; when I was growing up in Greensboro, NC, I made the 90-minute drive to Raleigh countless times to check out the latest gear from brands like Magnepan, Vandersteen, Audio Research, and McIntosh. Audio Advice has a similarly modern and well-equipped showroom in Charlotte. Now the company is expanding its reach further with the acquisition of The Audio Lab, which has been serving the Coastal Carolinas from its Wilmington, North Carolina store for over 30 years. As the longest-running specialty audio/video retailer in Wilmington, The Audio Lab has a loyal customer base and a good track-record of providing high-quality listening and viewing experiences to customers from up and down the coast.

We are super excited to welcome The Audio Lab and its terrific team to the Audio Advice family. We believe this combination will allow us to provide the best of both companies to customers throughout the Carolinas.

— Scott Newnam, CEO of Audio Advice.

I am extremely proud of what we have at The Audio Lab and could not be more happy with our team joining the Audio Advice family. The more I have learned about Audio Advice and watched how they have embraced our team, the more excited I have become for our team. Audio Advice is bringing a level of training, reputation, and investment into our team and showroom that makes me incredibly happy.

Gregg Chopper, the Chief Operating Officer at Audio Advice, said that the addition of The Audio Lab to the company’s resources will help Audio Advice support specialty AV and custom installation customers throughout the South — not just in the Carolinas. Much of the existing team from The Audio Lab will stay on board, providing a smooth transition and allowing Audio Advice to maintain working relationships with The Audio Lab’s existing clients. Employees from The Audio Lab will benefit from advanced training from Audio Advice, which is known nationally for its expertise in audio and home theaters, including its library of over 750 how-to videos, product reviews, and buyer guides. These, along with the powerful Audio Advice Home Theater Design Tool, are all available for free on the company’s website.

In addition to providing the combined expertise in Wilmington for The Audio Lab customers, this combination allows us to better serve our customers who have second homes at the beach cities. We now have by far the largest team of expert sales professionals, system designers, installation technicians, and service and support personnel throughout the Carolinas. This should allow us to bring our mission of ‘Delivering Happiness’ to an even larger set of customers. We believe in having large, best-in-class showrooms that allow consumers to touch, feel, and experience everything before buying. While this requires a substantial and continued investment, we believe it provides massive value to consumers and brands. To that end, we will invest in The Audio Lab showroom in Wilmington to be consistent with our other award-winning showrooms.

— Gregg Chopper, Chief Operating Officer of Audio Advice

The new Wilmington showroom is located at:
