2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Coverage Page
We're starting off 2017 with a bang by bringing you the latest and greatest AV Electronics product coverage announced at CES in Las Vegas. We sent our very own Marshall Guthrie on an away mission to cover the main showfloor for AV electronics, as well as the Venetian to please the high end two-channel audiophile in each of us.
What is the theme this year at CES 2017? Ultra High Definition (UHD). UHD is becoming more affordable and the hardware support more readily available. Whole home networking and streaming is infiltrating even entry level products from the major bands like Yamaha, Denon, and NAD. Soundbars from the likes of Yamaha, Samsung, Pioneer, Polk and others have moved forward by leaps and bounds by offering a truly immersive surround effect that may have you second guessing running a small discrete 5.1 satellite system if its too impractical.
Bluetooth - especially in headphones, is a bigger buzz than ever. Apple's decision to cut the headphone jack is accelerating every manufacturer's move to bluetooth. Bluetooth buds, no wires a la the Apple earpods, are the new hot form factor if anyone, including Apple, can get it right.
Check out all of our great product coverage here and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Gene and Marshall also discuss the highlights of the show in the YouTube Video overviews below.
