AVC Soul MP3 Players
AVC Technology demoed some of their new Soul-branded MP3 players at the show. In particular I was drawn to the DHP1000, a micro-sized MP3 player/recorder that sports all the inputs and outputs you could dream of. Though this player was launched in September it is still a fairly new product and deserved some recognition. Some quick highlights include:
- Supports MP3 / WMA files
- Built-in 1" HDD Memory: 1.5GB / 2.0GB
- Built-in Microphone for Voice Recording
- Easy Upload and Download of Digital Music files via USB V2.0
- Six preset Equalizer modes
- Full graphic Organic LED Display (OLED)
- Supports Windows & Mac OS X (Windows 98SE, driver required)
Next up was AVC's new Soul DFP4000 MP3 flash player. This unit resembled a bic lighter (remember those?) more than anything else - except much more elegant. With up to 1GB flash memory and the ability to decode SRS WOW Surround, I'd say this player is quite the hit. In fact, you'll have a hard time discovering anything it can't do. Features of this player/recorder include:
- Supports MP3/WMA Files
- Built in flash memory: 128MB/256MB/512MB/1GB
- Built-in microphone for voice recording
- Built-in FM tuner with 20 station presets
- Easy upload/download of files via USB 1.1
- Direct encoding function
- Ten preset EQ modes plus User Defined EQ
- SRS WOW sound enhancement
- Voice activation detection
- Full grahic OLED display
- Supports Windows & Mac OS X
With all of the MP3 players out there you have some stiff competition, but AVC didn't seem to leqve anything out in their offerings and we can only sjake our heads in amazement at the reduced size of these latest offerings. For more information, please visit www.avctechnology.com .
