InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10
InFocus introduced its comprehensive portfolio of large-format, consumer displays and is debuting the first two models of high-definition 6.8" ultra-thin microdisplay televisions -- the 61" InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 and 50" InFocus ScreenPlay 50md10.
The InFocus ScreenPlay microdisplay televisions feature proprietary, patent-pending InFocus Engine technology, a break-through in ultra-thin microdisplays with zero burn-in, the ability to refresh brightness and the largest image size at a lower price than other thin-profile TVs currently available. Easy to maintain, with service access in the front to simply change the lamp, the InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 and InFocus ScreenPlay 50md10 offer custom installers and consumers two size options to suit specific home entertainment needs.
With a 61-inch screen size and sub-7 inches thin, the InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 has an innovative thin-profile design, ideal for mounting on a wall, placing on a table or affixing to a floor stand while generating award-winning ScreenPlay image quality. The InFocus ScreenPlay 50md10 is a 50-inch television that also utilizes the InFocus Engine and offers the same revolutionary features and benefits as the ScreenPlay 61md10. In 2005, InFocus plans to introduce additional consumer microdisplay televisions at 70 inches and sub-50 inch LCD's to complete the comprehensive offering.
"With the new microdisplay televisions, InFocus now provides a portfolio of stellar large-format displays that produce the same image quality that propelled ScreenPlay projectors to be the brand of choice for discerning videophiles," said Scott Hix, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Americas Business Unit at InFocus. "The InFocus Engine technology enables consumers to experience all of the benefits of microdisplay in exciting, large new form factors without compromise."
The InFocus ScreenPlay microdisplay TVs feature native 720p HD resolution with the latest DLP(TM) technology from Texas Instruments® for crisp, clear images and nearly twice the contrast of most other proprietary microdisplay technologies. With advanced connectivity including two integrated high-definition (HD) tuners, DVI, component, and S-video for simultaneous connections to all digital sources, the InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 and InFocus ScreenPlay 50md10 are easy to use with consumer electronics common in today's households, and the equipment of the future.
InFocus has been a leader in projection technology for the past 20 years, and three years ago leveraged its expertise to enter the home projection market. Beginning in 2001, InFocus launched its ScreenPlay projectors that bring the movie theater experience into the home. The stellar performance propelled InFocus ScreenPlay to the top consumer projector brand in the U.S. in 2003 with 20 percent market share according to a recent report by Pacific Media Associates (PMA).
The ScreenPlay portfolio has been honored worldwide with many awards including the 2004-2005 and 2003-2004 European Projector of the Year by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), 2003 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award, CEDIA Video Product of the Year, and several reviewer's and editor's choice awards from top industry publications around the globe. The award-winning InFocus ScreenPlay products including the InFocus ScreenPlay 7205, InFocus ScreenPlay 4805, and new three-chip DLP(TM) projector, the InFocus ScreenPlay 777, will be showcased at CEDIA 2004 along with the new InFocus ScreenPlay 61md10 and InFocus ScreenPlay 50md10.
In addition to the microdisplay TVs, the InFocus Engine will be used in a portfolio of commercial thin displays for conference rooms, corporate lobbies, retail stores, hotels and transportation applications.
