[0.22]
by clint,January 09, 2012 16:05
- Velodyne is breaking out of its shell, mold - whatever you want to call it. First they dropped the bomb that they'd begin selling products online and now they've come out with a whole new line of products - in-ear headphones! The newest product is being branded as vPulse and is available for $89 in either Classic Black or Velodyne Electric Blue. According to Velodyne, vPulse is only the first product in a new line of high performance headphones and it's debut is here at the 2012 CES. The whole point behind vPulse in-ear headphones is that they bring Velodyne’s legendary bass performance right to the listener’s ear thanks to the aluminum driver housing and 10 mm driver, which combine to produce precise, low-distortion bass.

[0.22]
by jclarke,February 10, 2008 11:10
- The SoundWare speaker from Boston Acoustics is a very interesting product, considering that whole-house audio has become all the rage. Whether it's in the kitchen or out on the back porch, we all want our music to follow us throughout the day. But as Audioholics, it's not as simple as having a boom box or clock radio wherever we want music - we want a nice set of speakers. Boston Acoustics has introduced a new line of affordable speakers aimed squarely at those of us who want great sound both indoors and out.

Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speaker System Review
[0.22]
by jclarke,November 27, 2007 13:25
- The Take Classic system picks up where the Take 5 system left off, and adds aggressive (value) pricing that makes this system worthy of a closer look. I have had the Take Classic system set up in my Reference Theater for the past several weeks, and can tell you that if you are considering (gasp!) a Home Theater in a Box, stop right where you are and take time to read this review.

MB Quart Alexxa B-One Bookshelf Speaker Review
[0.22]
by jclarke,May 01, 2008 12:25
- Could the MB Quart Alexxa B-One speakers be manufactured in Hades? I ask this because, as I am sure you know, the devil is in the details and detail is what these speakers are all about. They present a very detailed reproduction of music, and fit and finish is top notch. But fear not, I will not be forced to consider damnation after all, as the Alexxas are not the handiwork of Beelzebub, but rather that of a storied team of engineers in Germany.

Audyssey Labs' MultEQ

by Patrick Hart,December 28, 2004 20:00
- Tom Holman had a problem. As Professor of Film Sound at the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television, one of Tom's duties was to set-up, calibrate and acoustically equalize Norris Theater. This minimum five hour job was a step-by-laborious-step of set-up and reconfirmation of settings done months before. Inevitably, recalibration accompanied by more fine-turning was always required to make each channel of the Norris Theater system perform optimally. Norris was but one of literally tens of theaters and studio facilities that Tom has been calibrating manually for many years.

mStation 2.1 Stereo Tower Review
[0.22]
by clint,December 14, 2007 01:00
- It's hard to feel luke-warm about the iPod. You either hate it or love it. The hundreds of iPod-centric devices and gadgets which have hit the market in the past several years since the debut of the device has seen to that. I've seen many iPod speaker systems in my time, but none have had the sheer presence of the mStation. Far from catering to the unimposing and diminished size of the iPod, the 2.1 Stereo Tower presents itself as a domineering system that can still manage to hide itself away in a corner or against a wall without taking up too much space.

Griffin Amplifi 2.1 Speaker System Review

by Scott Dente,September 19, 2007 13:31
- For the last twenty years, I have been a career musician. It hasn't always been pretty, but it has been pretty fun. Part of my job is to acquire and figure out a lot of different types of musical gear. I've read my share of manuals, mastered many a menu, and wrestled with the buttons, switches and inputs on everything from high-end recording gear to stomp box guitar pedals. So when I was given the opportunity to check out Griffin's "one-knobbed wonder," the Amplifi, I was stoked. Just one knob? Sounds like a bit of heaven! Griffin continues to put easy to use, value-priced gear into the marketplace and this piece is no exception as it goes up against competition like the Bose SoundDock and the Altec Lansing IM7. Lets see how it does.
