Panamax PM4100 and PM5100 Power Managers

Summary

  • Product Name: PM4100 and PM5100 Power Managers
  • Manufacturer: Panamax
  • Review Date: September 10, 2012 07:45
  • MSRP: $400 - $600
  • First Impression: Pretty Cool

Panamax showed off their new power management and monitoring solutions, including the new MR4300 and MR5100 (you may remember that we reviewed the PM4300 last year, the MR4300 is its replacement). Both offer power monitoring of incoming line voltage. The MR4300 has 8 outlets in the back and one on the front as well as protection for both LAN and telephone and also cable (RF) line protection. It's a simple unit with an LED display and even Furman-inspired lights on the front which light up your entire rack.

The PM5100 is a bit more sophisticated with 10 outlets on the back which are split into three banks, including a delayed bank - effect for connecting your amplifiers to it and for avoiding pops when powering up and down your equipment. It also offers a convenience outlet on the front. The PM4300 retails for $400 and the PM5100 will cost $600.
