Yamaha R-N1000A Product Overview

The R-N1000A is your entry into Yamaha’s new breed of network high-performance 2CH receivers. Yamaha's N-series of network receivers are built in the image of the Japanese audio company's recent flagship 5000-series using some of the same high-end parts that are tailored to over-compensate for the power requirements of each unique component. Design and engineering cues are taken from two of Yamaha's extreme high-end components, the M-5000 amp and C-5000 preamp. The N-series, including the R-N1000A, combines 2-channel amp, pre-amp, HDMI ARC that lets you stream audio from your TV apps while controlling amp functions with Yamaha's MusicCast app with this Internet connected receiver to bring the wide world of sound to your listening room.

Yamaha Remembers! This 100-WPC receiver has the seductive retro style borrowed from the classic era that made Yamaha a legend in hi-fi audio. The R-N1000A brings the best of two different eras of music listening using an analog cable firmly connected to the esthetics and power of the classic-era but also a wireless network connection to the future. The muted black brushed aluminum front panel features substantial switches and dials and a quarter-inch headphone jack, but this isn't your father's receiver! That classic front-facing exterior shows no evidence of the 21st century technology within, save for the conspicuous LED status display. But inside the R-N1000A is a high quality ESS SABRE ES9080Q Ultra DAC capable of high-res decoding, full DSD 11.2 MHz or 384kHz playback. Yamaha’s proprietary MusicCast music controller app will keep the Sabre DAC busy with all your favorite streaming music services and Internet radio.

A look at the back panel reveals an array of input/output options. Digital inputs include optical, coax, USB and to keep you actively connected online, your choice of Ethernet or Wi-Fi. You'll also get 3 analog RCA inputs and for vinyl playback, a phono input directly connected to Yamaha's high-quality MM phono preamp, the latter being the main reason the N-R1000A earned an Audioholics 2023 Product of the Year Award.

The receiver even includes a sub-out with built-in bass management capabilities, an HDMI out and the R-N1000A even includes pre-outs so you can use it as a streamer/pre-amp.
