Sherbourn Announces New 7/1250A 7-Channel Amplifier

North Billerica, MA - January 28, 2004 - Sherbourn Technologies, maker of the PT-7000 processor and 7/2100 7-channel monoblock amplifier has now released a new 7-channel amplifier aimed at consumers looking to get into the entry-level separates market. The 7/1250A amplifier is built into the same 4U chassis as the Sherbourn 7/2100A, featuring an elegantly sculptured aluminum front panel that houses 7 switchable blue LEDs. The overall appearance matches Sherbourn's 2 zone PT-7000 preamp-processor-tuner. Optional rack mount ears are available.

The 7/1250A has 7 mono block, each of which includes 4 discrete mosfet/bipolar devices and outputs 7 x 120W into 8-ohms and 175W into 4-ohms with all cannels driven. Each mono block includes almost 15,000 microfarad capacitance. The 7/1250A has 2 specially designed dual voltage toroidal transformers and 7 large heat sinks allow for a fan-free cool running temperature. Six channels can be bridged into 3 to give an impressive 3 x 240W at 8-ohms.

The rear panel includes 7 sets of RCA inputs, 7 sets of gold-plated speaker terminals, a 12V trigger input, and a switch for selecting signal sensing or 12V.

The 7/1250A has a cartoned weight of approximately 75 pounds and a preliminary MSRP of just $1800, making it an elegant and competitive 'component' alternative to a receiver.
