Onkyo/Integra Ships DTR-7.4 and DTR-8.4 THX Receivers

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ (12-10-03) -- Integra has announced immediate shipments of its DTR-7.4 and DTR-8.4 THX Select-certified 7.1-channel network A/V receivers, delivering 7 x 100 and 7 x 110 Watts of power, respectively. Each features processing for every major home theater sound format currently in use, upsampling of all video inputs to component video, HDTV capable component video switching, an IF/RF (infrared/radio frequency) remote control and optional RF receiver, and a suite of distributed audio options including the company's exclusive Net-TuneT Ethernet audio and Powered Zone 2 capabilities.

Like all Integra products, the DTR-7.4 and DTR-8.4 were designed to meet the demanding needs of custom installers. They include rear panel RS-232 ports, 12-volt trigger outputs, and 3.5mm IR in and out jacks for integration with nearly any home theater equipment and whole-home control systems. Each features conversion of both composite and S-Video signals to component video, which simplies connection to a TV or projector, eliminating the need for redundant multiple video connections. There are also a wide array of multizone features, including two-source multizone capability using Zone 2 line-out jacks with external amplification, or Powered Zone 2 which uses the rear surround channel amplifiers to drive the second zone stereo speakers.

The DTR-7.4 and DTR-8.4 each include onboard processing for THX Surround EX 7.1, Dolby Digital EX and Dolby ProLogic II, DTS-ES, DTS Neo:6, and DTS 96/24 surround sound formats. High quality 192 kHz/24-bit Linear PCM D/A converters are used in conjunction with Integra's exclusive Vector Linear Shaping Circuit (VLSC) for smooth, detailed digital-to-analog processing on all front channels.

These receivers also have a rear panel Ethernet port for connection to a PC network (LAN) using Integra's exclusive Net-Tune distributed audio system, and to update the receiver's firmware using a home PC to incorporate future upgrades. Net-Tune uses a home network to play Internet Radio streams via a networked broadband Internet connection, and also to access MP3 and Windows Media Audio (WMA) files stored on an Integra NAS-2.3 dedicated audio server or on a home PC. The receiver's on-screen display shows song title, artist, album, genre, and playlist information, making the entire family's music collection easy to store and access, without the clutter of CDs and their cases. Not even a CD jukebox can hold so much music, and deliver it so quickly and easily.

Integra's elegant new aluminum-face universal/learning remote control features an LCD display screen, scroll wheel for menu easy navigation, and the ability to control every component in a full home theater system. The remote is capable of RF transmission, and when combined with Integra's optionally available RF receiver and IR distribution block, can control components at a much greater range, and even through walls and cabinetry.
