HD Radio Rollout Strengthened by iBiquity
Columbia, MD - March 11 , 2004 - iBiquity Digital Corporation, the sole developer of HD Radio™ technology, today announced that it has added two new members to its commercialization team to assist in the expanded rollout of AM/FM digital radio. Peter Brady, former director of sales for Sony Electronics Inc., joins iBiquity as director of aftermarket business development, and Bob Dillon, former CEO of Enikia, assumes the role of director of IC strategic marketing.
As director of aftermarket business development, Brady will work with receiver manufacturers to bring additional HD Radio products to market and with retailers to increase the outlets for those products. In his new position, Brady will draw on the extensive experience he gained during his 18 years with Sony Electronics where he worked with retailers to successfully launch a wide range of consumer electronics products.
As director of IC strategic marketing, Dillon will be in charge of developing and strengthening iBiquity's ties with semiconductor suppliers to help increase the availability of HD Radio chip sets. Dillon has ten years of experience working in the semiconductor and networking industries in both business and engineering roles, including former positions as CEO of Enikia Incorporated, a privately held developer of power-line networking silicon, and vice president of Aware Incorporated, a leading developer of xDSL technology.
According to Robert Struble, president and chief executive officer, iBiquity Digital Corporation, "Now that HD Radio receivers are selling in the market, it is important for us to add additional highly qualified personnel like Peter and Bob to strengthen and grow our partnerships, driving increasing sales of HD Radio products."
The commercial rollout of HD Radio technology began in 2003 when AM and FM stations around the country began digital broadcasting and continued with the launch of HD Radio receivers at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2004. Nearly 300 radio stations in over 100 U.S. markets across 38 states have licensed HD Radio technology and are live, or in the process of going live, with digital broadcasts.
