DVIGear Shows Digital Connectivity Products at InfoComm
Orlando, FL - June 7, 2006 - DVIGear, a leading manufacturer of digital connectivity products, will exhibit an expanded suite of DVI and HDMI connectivity products at the InfoComm show in Orlando that offer system integrators greater performance and flexibility for advanced digital display systems.
"Many end users have asked us for a better solution to distribute high quality DVI and HDMI signals," said Steven Barlow, president of DVIGear. "We've continued to expand our DVI and HDMI product range to make it easier than ever for end users to distribute high resolution DVI and HDMI signals in small and medium-sized display systems," Barlow noted. At InfoComm DVIGear will announce four new product families:
Fully-integrated HDMI Fiber Optic Cables
DVIGear will exhibit their latest range of HDMI fiber cables, which are the industry's only full integrated HDMI fiber cables, as well as the only ones to be certified by HDMI testing authorities (mandatory for all HDMI products). The HDMI Fiber Optic Cable has a unique design that features a "source" end with an integrated +5VDC power jack for applications where the signal source does not provide sufficient output current, and a "display" end that is very narrow measuring only 23mm (0.9"). Both ends of the cable are terminated into a female HDMI connector. By using a short HDMI male to DVI male (copper) cable, this cable can also be used to support DVI applications. Due to its narrow outside diameter, the "display" end of the HDMI Fiber Optic Cable can navigate narrow passages (conduit) that are too small for conventional DVI cables. These cables support HDTV resolutions up to 1080p and PC resolutions up to 1920x1200/60 Hz with cable lengths over 120 meters (400 ft.). They are available in pre-terminated lengths up to 100 meters, as well as custom lengths on special order.
Super High Resolution™ DVI and HDMI Cables
DVIGear will exhibit its next generation of Super High Resolution™ (SHR™) DVI and HDMI cables. Engineered for fully transparent operation with single-link bit rates up to 1.65 Gbit/sec., DVIGear's SHR™ cables set a new benchmark for performance and durability. Unlike consumer-grade cables that use 28AWG or 30AWG wire, DVIGear's Super High Resolution™ cables use heavy gauge 22AWG wire for very low signal attention. Together with the cable's ultra-low skew and crosstalk, this results in superior signal quality and enables cable lengths over 60 meters (200 ft.) that support HDTV signals to 1080p resolutions and PC resolutions up to 1920x1200/60 Hz.
DVIGear's Super High Resolution™ cables are available now in a wide range of lengths from 0.5 to 60 meters. To ensure optimum signal performance at the highest resolutions, all Super High Resolution™ cables 10 meters or longer will ship with DVIGear's Active Signal Correction™ (ASC™) starting August 1, 2006 . DVIGear's ASC™ technology consists of a high efficiency frequency equalizer that mitigates insertion loss effects inherent in long cables. This external device is placed at the end of the signal chain and includes its own +5VDC power supply and interconnection cable.
DVI and HDMI Distribution Products
At InfoComm DVIGear will exhibit its full range of low cost DVI and HDMI distribution products including a wide range of splitters, switchers, extenders, scalers, format converts. These products offer full support for HDCP encrypted signals as well as support for all HDTV resolutions up to 1080p and PC resolutions up to 1920x1200/60 Hz.
Custom DVI and HDMI Wall Plates
DVIGear will display its full range of custom Wall Plate solutions at InfoComm. With over 60 different connector types and 20 different wall plate colors, DVIGear offers the greatest speed and flexibility for custom wall plate fabrication for all applications.
