CEDIA Releases HDMI Design & Initialization Sequence White Paper
The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has published a much-needed new white paper on the topic of HDMI titled HDMI Design and Initialization Sequence. The document discusses the basic design of HDMI devices, the HDMI initialization sequence, and features in the HDMI 1.4a specification. HDMI Design and Initialization Sequence is the second in CEDIA's series of white papers on the topic of HDMI. The paper covers three types of HDMI devices as well as the authentication process of displaying the best possible audio and video format and a list of third-party HDCP key limits. This document is available through the CEDIA Marketplace free of charge to CEDIA members and is priced at $9.99 for non-members.
The HDMI Design and Initialization Sequence white paper was developed by CEDIA's Technology Council, which works to help CEDIA members identify opportunities surrounding emerging and future technologies. Additional white papers on timely and relevant technology topics will be released throughout 2011.
"This white paper serves as a resource to help electronic systems industry professionals understand the basics of HDMI design and the HDMI initialization sequence in order to better service and troubleshoot issues that may arise with this technology."
- Dave Pedigo, CEDIA’s senior director of technology
