CEDIA Coverage from About.com
Our friend Robert Silva over at About.com provided his own CEDIA show coverage and we thought he did a great job, particularly with respect to covering his own thoughts of 3D and how the various vendors and manufacturers did with the technology demos this year. Our own opinions on 3D performance were somewhat mixed, but Robert and I seemed to gel on most of our opinions - something that indicates that at least we're not crazy. Several manufacturers don't seem ready for prime-time quite yet.
Like us, Robert seemed to like SI Screens technology which was used by many manufacturers to demo material during the day without requiring total light isolation. The only thing that bothered me was that many were claiming incredible black levels - While true, this is something that was mostly due to the screen and not the projector!
He also caught a cool product I missed, Panamax's BlueBOLT remote power management system:
In these days of "Eco-Consciousness" energy saving and power management products are becoming increasingly important for the home. Panamax/Furman, makers of surge protectors, power conditioners, and related power management products was on hand at the 2010 CEDIA showcasing their BlueBOLT remote power management system.
It's some decent photos and coverage - check it out.
