Boston Acoustics Introduces P400 Home Theater Speaker
CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, Sept. 10, 2004 - Boston Acoustics, Inc., a premier manufacturer of high-performance audio solutions for home entertainment, automobiles and personal desktop audio systems, introduces the breakthrough P400 High Performance Slim Theater Speaker at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2004.
The P400 High Performance Slim Theater Speaker ushers in a new way to experience today's most advanced A/V and Home Theater systems. It's unique three-channel solution delivers powerful, impressive surround sound for left, center, and right channels from a SINGLE thin chassis designed to perfectly complement a 42-inch [or larger] plasma or LCD television or monitor, a DLP rear-projection console, or a traditional screen.
The P400 is an ideal solution for consumers seeking better Home Theater performance, but less visible speakers. Uniquely versatile, it can be wall-mounted below or above a display, set on top of the display with a supplied foot, or on a table or credenza with an optional stand. It can even be set up to share a swivel bracket with a plasma TV so that all three channels of the front sound stage pivot with the TV.
The P400 also serves as the flagship loudspeaker for Boston Acoustics' equally versatile new P4 Series Speakers , also being introduced at CEDIA Expo (see separate release). The P400 achieves its impressive performance employing a speaker array that consists of three 4-1/2-inch bass drivers, three 4-1/4 inch passive radiators, and three VR® aluminum dome tweeters -- one set of each for the left, center and right channels. Of course, P400 listeners also benefit from the opportunity to enjoy The Boston Sound(TM) , an acclaimed feature of all Boston Acoustics speaker systems that reproduces music and movie sound with exceptional accuracy. The Boston Sound delivers the music and sound effects that artists intend with a pure neutral tonal consistency that remains the same for all Boston Acoustics speakers, including the P400.
The P400's innovative chassis is MagnaGuard® shielded, ensuring the speaker's magnetic field does not interfere with any television's picture, and allowing it to be placed directly next to a TV or monitor. Constructed of extruded aluminum for superb structural integrity, the sturdy cabinet eliminates the spurious resonances and vibration that degrade ordinary speaker sound.
An included bracket allows the speaker to be angled up to 15 degrees up or down to better direct the sound towards the listening area. The optional P4TS Table Stand, available separately, allows it to rest on a convenient table or credenza. The chassis measures 40 inches wide by 5-5/8 inches high by 3-15/16 inches deep.
The P400 High Performance Slim Theater Speaker, with a black or silver grille, will be available in September from authorized Boston Acoustics dealers at a suggested price of $1,500 each. It can be seen with Boston Acoustics' other outstanding products in Booth 630, Indiana Convention Center, during CEDIA EXPO.
